If your workspace has document folders<\/a> and you want to manage access to specific folders, then you need to set unique permissions on the folders. A prerequisite is however that you login to the workspace with a user account that has administrative permissions, preferably with an account that is a site collection administrator in the workspace. These instructions guide you to set these permissions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open the MetaShare workspace<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Open the workspace\u2019s SharePoint site<\/a> and navigate to the site\u2019s document library where the documents are stored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select the document folder that you want to set permissions on and open the folder\u2019s \u201cDetails pane\u201d, on the document library\u2019s function bar (click on the \"Click icon):

  4. On the top of the pane, click on the \u201cManage access\u201d link:
    \"Click<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. On the bottom of the pane, click now on the \u201cAdvanced\u201d link:
    \"Click<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. On the ribbon, click now on the \u201cStop Inheriting Permissions\u201d function:

    You will be asked to confirm that you want to create unique permissions for the folder, click on the \u201cOK\u201d button:

  7. For any of the users\/groups that have permissions to the folder but you want to remove their permissions, select them and click on the \u201cRemove Users Permissions\u201d function:

    You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the unique permissions for the folder, click on the \u201cOK\u201d button:

  8. For any of the users\/groups that have permissions to the folder but you want to change their permissions, select them and click on the \u201cEdit User Permissions\u201d function:

    You now need to change the permissions for the selected users\/groups and the click on the \u201cOK\u201d button:

  9. For any new users\/groups that you want to grant permissions to the folder click on the \u201cGrant Permissions\u201d function:

    In the pop-up screen, add the users\/groups, in the first field. To get more options, click on the \u201cSHOW OPTIONS\u201d link and then deselect the \u201cSend email invitation\u201d box and then define the permission that the users\/groups should be granted, under the \u201cSelect a permission level\u201d option. Once you are done, click on the \u201cOK\u201d button:

  10. You have now set unique permissions on the folder and close this browser tab.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
